Kazakhstan. Grain harvest is underway in 11 regions

Weather conditions. Above-normal air temperatures were observed in Kazakhstan on August 1-10, though it was colder than normal in the west, southwest and north of the country.

Moisture supply. Precipitation occurred in most of the country, except for Kyzylorda and Turkestan regions.

Spring and heat-loving crops (corn for grain, rice) are in good and fair condition. On August 1-10, the northern half of Kazakhstan had mostly fair conditions for grain filling and full ripeness, as well as for the start of harvest. Farmers have largely completed winter wheat harvest in the south and southeast of the country, where this crop is cultivated. As of August 27, 2019, grain harvest is underway in 11 regions out of the country’s 14 ones.
