Kazakhstan. Precipitation hampered spring fieldwork
Winter grains in the southern regions of Kazakhstan grew strongly on April 1-10. Air temperatures were favorable there (the average air temperature during the ten days was 12-14°C). Adequate moisture supply was available to winter crops, except for some areas in Almaty region. Precipitation that occurred all over the country increased soil moisture supply but hampered spring fieldwork in the south. Winter wheat is rated good. Depending on the region, its plants are in the stages of 3rd leaf to tillering, stem elongation.
Planting of spring barley is already underway in Almaty and Turkestan regions. Spring wheat and corn have emerged in Kyzylorda and Turkestan regions, respectively, reports UkrAgroConsult.
