Romania. Corn exports are 14% higher compared to last season
According to port data, in February 2019 Romania exported 144.55 KMT of corn, which was 35% higher than in the same month of 2018, but in line with shipments of February 2016/17 MY, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Key buyers of the month were Egypt and Turkey.
In September-February 2018/19 Romania shipped 2630 KMT of corn via ports, which is 13.7% more than over the same period of 2017/18 due to higher export potential. Compared with the same period of 2016/17 exports are up 43%.
Considering the downward revision of corn crop 2018 and current export pace, UkrAgroConsult decreased its export forecast in 2018/19 compared to February expectations, but it is still 28% higher than last season.
