UDSA predicts a reduction in world production of sunflower in 2019/20 Mr

According to experts UDSA, world sunflower seed production in 2019/20 MG will be reduced to 50.95 million MT compared to the record 51,47 million tons of the 2018/19 season. In particular, Ukraine will reduce the production from 15 to 14.8 million tons, Russia – from 12.71 to 12.5 million tons, Turkey – from 1.8 to 1.55 million tons.

At the same time world production of sunflower seed meal will increase from 21.13 to 21.34 million tons and sunflower oil – from 19.69 to 19.9 million tons Experts UDSA predict that Ukraine will reduce the production of specified products, and Russia – will increase.
 
Forecasts of world imports of sunflower seeds increased to 2.29 million tonnes, sunflower meal – to 7.52 million tonnes, sunflower oil – to 8.84 million t. the Main importers of these products will remain Turkey and the EU.

Ukraine in comparison with last year has increased the sowing area of sunflower from 5.7 to 5.8 million hectares In Russia sunflower sown 8.1 million hectares or 104.5% of the planned areas compared with last year's 7.8 million hectares.

Good condition of sunflower crops in Russia and Ukraine allows to hope for record harvests in the new season.
