Ukraine. Winter crops still have enough soil moisture

It was warmer than usual on April 1-10. At the same time, sharp swings were observed between daytime and night temperatures. So, the average air temperature was 2.5-7.4^°С above normal, varying from +7.1^°С to +9.7^°С. On single days, air temperatures in most regions swung from +16-24^°С in the daytime to -2-6^°С at night. This had an adverse impact on spring regeneration processes in plants.

In fact, most parts of the country received no precipitation on April 1-10. Rain of various intensity only occurred on the last two days almost everywhere, except for Vinnytsia, Cherkasy regions and western Ukraine.

Due to warm, rain-free weather with dry winds, the topsoil rapidly dried during the first ten days of the month, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Productive moisture supply in the soil somewhat reduced. Nevertheless, it remains at a sufficient level.

Most plantings of winter grains are generally in good and fair condition, but it will significantly depend on future weather because plants in some fields experience soil moisture shortage already now.
