Mineral fertilizers import to Ukraine exceeds export 13x
In January-May 2019, Ukraine imported 1.6 million tons of fertilizers, 13.3x more from export volumes of this product from Ukraine (0.12 million tons).
The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine informs that in January-May 2019 imported volumes of mineral fertilizers to Ukraine are as follows:
potash fertilizers mineral or chemical — 28.8 thousand tons for the amount of USD 8.5 million;
phosphate fertilizers mineral or chemical — 25.9 thousand tons, USD 5.2 million;
nitrogen fertilizers mineral or chemical — 1.06 million tons, USD 259.8 million.
In January-May 2019, exported volumes of mineral fertilizers from Ukraine are as follows:
potash fertilizers mineral or chemical — 1.08 thousand tons for the amount of USD 281 thou.;
phosphate fertilizers mineral or chemical — were not exported;
nitrogen fertilizers mineral or chemical — 119.4 thou. tons, USD 25.2 million.
As previously reported, Ostchem Group of companies owned by Ukrainian oligarch Dmitriy Firtash dominates the production of mineral fertilizers in Ukraine with 2.6 million tons of annual output.
