Ukrainian corn exports hit a record high in MY 2018/19
Ukraine exported a record 30.4 MMT of corn in MY 2018|19, or 70% more than in MY 2017/18, reports UkrAgroConsult. The previous export record (21.3 MMT) was set in MY 2016/17.
The EU is the biggest importer accounting for 53.4% of exports. It absorbed a record 16.2 MMT that i two times more than in MY 2017/18.
The range of export destinations widened to 61 countries (49 in MY 2017/18), including mostly Asian, African and Near East countries.
A fast pace of shipments was observed to the following key markets: Turkey (+120%), Libya (+43%), China (+37%).
A hike in demand was registered from Algeria and Republic of Korea.
Weakened demand from last season was seen from Iran (-38%) and Tunisia (-14%).
