Russia. 2018/19 corn exports hit a six-year low
Russia exported 1.9 MMT of corn in September-April 2018/19 (down 54% from the same period in MY 2017/18), reports UkrAgroConsult. This is the smallest volume of corn exports in six years.
This season’s biggest importer of Russian corn is Iran, which absorbed 63% of its total exports. Accelerating exports was registered to the following key markets: Iran (+48.8%), Azerbaijan (+67%), Japan (+26.4%) and Belarus (+12.2%).
Weakening demand from traditional importers such as: Turkey (-90%), Georgia (-30.3%), EU (-17.8%).
