Russia. UkrAgroConsult cut its crop forecast for wheat, but raised for barley

Wheat harvest in Russia is half complete. The average yield already exceeds last year’s one, though just marginally (+1.5-2%). However, yields in important wheat growing regions are lower than expected or slightly higher than last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

UkrAgroConsult reduced its wheat crop forecast, but we do not rule out its further downward adjustment as the harvest advances. The estimate for exports was cut to the lowest in three years).

The forecast for barley production was increased due to a larger planted area and a higher yield (on average up 15% from last year). The forecast for exports was raised by 0.6 MMT.
