Ukraine. Dredging in Yuzhny port is 50% completed
As of mid-May 2018, China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) had extracted 1.458 million cubic meters of soil under the project "Reconstruction of maritime approach channel and inland water approaches to deep-sea quays of Yuzhny seaport”.
CHEC performed 53.6% of dredging works within the project. At the same time, the company outstrips the work schedule by 28.26%, reports UkrAgroConsult.
As a reminder, according to the second contract, CHEC will perform dredging of maritime approach channel and operational water area of berths #5-6 of Yuzhny seaport from 19 to 21 meters, realizing two launching complexes. The project should be completed in 2019. The project’s cost is UAH 586.045 million. CHEC started dredging operations in water area of Yuzhny port on August 31, 2017.
Kazakhstan. In 2018 grain exports through Aktau port increased by almost 200%
During January-April 2018, grain handling volume through the grain terminal of JSC "Ak Biday-Terminal" (subsidiary of JSC “Food Contract Corporation "NC") in Aktau port reached 320.5 KMT. It should be noted that over same period last year, grain handling amounted to 122.1 KMT.
It should be emphasized that an increase in handling volumes by almost 200% was caused by the growth of total exports share of Russian grain transit. Iran, which is the main importer of grain in Caspian region, was the main export destination.
