Bulgaria’s 2019 sunflower seed crop will widen opportunities for crushers

Bulgaria increasingly focuses on domestic crushing operation.

More than half its 2018/19 crop - 55.5% - was processed within the country, whereas this percentage equaled just 46% five years ago, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Sunflower planted area will expand up 6.2% from MY 2018/19, and the crop will increase slightly. Planting for the 2019 harvest was all the time ahead of last year.

Crush will continue increasing up 7.5%. Export potential of the sunflower seed market will grow up 5-7%.
