Bulgaria. Sunflower seed market was active last week

Further slowdown is seen in sunflower planting because of unfavorable weather conditions (+4.4% against +13.5% a week earlier).

According to the Ag Ministry of Bulgaria, 722.3 Th ha had been planted to sunflower by May 16 against 391.8 Th ha last year (+4.4%).

Sunflower seed price closed the week up BGN 8/MT at BGN 581/MT that is equivalent to USD 332/MT (+ USD 4/MT) thanks to strong demand coming from EU and Turkey.
