Bulgaria. Sunseed market revived last week due to strengthening exporter demand
In early May the sunflower seed market in Bulgaria featured strengthening exporter demand for the commodity. This prevented prices from falling under pressure from high sunflower seed stocks and encouraged growers to take a more active stance.
Planting causes no concern despite some year-on-year slowdown in its progress (+13.5% against +30% a week earlier). Sunflower seed price closed the week unchanged, reports UkrAgroConsult.
According to Bulgaria’s Ag Ministry, 676.5 Th ha had been planted to sunflower by May 2 against 595.8 Th ha last year (+13.5%).
