Egypt's supply ministry cautioned local farmers against selling the government wheat with moisture levels that are higher than the allocated range.
Cold weather and climate change have led to a higher moisture content in some of the local crop which some farmers have tried to sell to the government, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said it would not buy such wheat. The harvest season began in mid-April.
