Export restrictions predictably affected wheat shipments from Kazakhstan

3 MMT of wheat had been exported from Kazakhstan since the beginning of the season (-26% year-on-year), UkrAgroConsult reports.

304 KMT was exported in April (-40% from March and -26% from April 2018/19). Exports slowed sharply because of wheat and flour export restrictions imposed in late March.

Uzbekistan cut exports in April, when the country’s share dropped to 48%.

A decrease in demand was registered from all key export destinations: Uzbekistan: -9%, China: -25%, the EU: -52%, Turkmenistan: -70%.
