GRAINS. According to the State Statistics Service, stocks of cereals and pulses in Ukraine totaled 20.99 MMT as of September 1, 2018. This is down 10.1% from the same date last year (23.35 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.
At the time, wheat stocks were down 10.8% at 14.97 MMT versus 16.78 MMT on September 1, 2017. Barley inventories dropped 8.7% from a year ago, to a bit more than 2.98 MMT against 3.26 MMT in August 2017.
Corn stocks expanded. They totaled 1.94 MMT as of the reporting date that is 20.8% more than a year ago (1.61 MMT).
OILCROPS. According to current information of the State Statistics Service, sunseed stocks in Ukraine totaled 1834.6 KMT as of September 1, 2018. Sunseed stocks were much higher than a year ago (672 KMT), UkrAgroConsult’s analysts report. This included 840.2 KMT held on farms (+373.3 KMT or +80% from September 1, 2017) and 994.4 KMT at storage and processing facilities (+789.3 KMT, or +385% on the year).
As of September 1, 2018, crusher soybean stocks were down 33.4% year-on-year at 67.1 KMT against 100.7 KMT on September 1, 2017. Rapeseed stocks as of the reporting date were down 4% and totaled 849.3 KMT against 884.2 KMT a year ago.
