Kazakh barley exports to Iran hit an all-time high
Kazakhstan exported the highest ever volume of barley in September-March 2018/19: 1.5 MMT, or 44% more than in the same period in MY 2017/18, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Iran is the biggest importer with a market share of 93%. Record barley exports to this country amounted to 1.4 MMT.
Exports to Uzbekistan totaled 80.3 KMT, the highest since MY 2001/02.
Kazakhstan resumed shipments to Israel and Azerbaijan for the first time after a four-year pause. MY 2018/19 witnessed the first-ever exports of Kazakh wheat to Iraq.
A decline in supplies to the following key markets: Afghanistan (-25%) and the EU (-78%).
