Kazakhstan should become a reliable supplier of high-quality and environmentally friendly agricultural products

Summing up, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin noted that as part of the implementation of the Program for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex, the Government must increase exports of processed agricultural products at least 2.5 times until 2022.

“It is necessary to ensure compliance with the requirements of veterinary and phytosanitary safety,” said Mamin.

It was noted that in 2017 all regions of Kazakhstan received the status of a FMD-free zone. Due to this, restrictions were lifted and conditions for the export of livestock products to Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia were agreed. Today, negotiations in this direction are continuing with Israel, China, South Korea and other countries. In addition, in March 2019, the Kazakh phytosanitary service inspected 30 flour mills, which are recommended for inclusion in the register of wheat flour exporters in the PRC.

“We should continue to work on removing veterinary and phytosanitary barriers and expanding markets. Kazakhstan has all the opportunities to become a reliable supplier of high-quality and environmentally friendly products,” said Mamin.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the regional akims, should pay special attention and take concrete measures on the following issues:

    ensuring a stable epizootic situation;
    arrangement of cattle cemeteries in accordance with veterinary and sanitary requirements;
    ensuring timely processing of cultivated areas from pests;
    ensuring effective veterinary and phytosanitary control.

"At the same time, it is necessary to carry out the relevant procedures in the framework of agreements on mutual trade with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union," Mamin emphasized.
