Lentil exports from Kazakhstan gained 13%

An upward trend has taken shape in the pace of lentil exports from Kazakhstan. So, supplies of Kazakh lentils to foreign markets reached 21.5 KMT in May 2018 compared to 2.4 KMT in May 2017. In addition, this is 8% more than in April 2018.

Kazakhstan shipped abroad almost 100 KMT of lentils in September-May 2017/18, i.e. 13% more than in the same period last season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Shipments to Turkey, the top importer of Kazakh lentils, reached 86.6 KMT in the period under review compared to 95.6 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17. The second biggest buyer – Iran – purchased 5.1 KMT of lentils in September-May 2017/18 that is already 6% more than in the whole of MY 2016/17.

Exports to Afghanistan also grew at the time against 0.76 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17.
