Romania. Soil moisture content at optimum level for growing corn and sunflower
Weather conditions. Air temperatures in Romania were 2..4°С above long-term normals (+17..+27°С). Heavy precipitation continues occurring everywhere (35-60 mm over the week), reaching 80-100 mm in some southern areas.
Moisture supply. Soil moisture content is at an optimum level for growing corn and sunflower – an abundance of moisture might deteriorate the quality of winter barley and winter wheat. In the southeast of the country, elevated air temperatures and precipitation deficits continue reducing yield potential in both winter and spring crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
