Romanian farmers started harvesting sunflower

Weather conditions. This past week, air temperatures in Romania stayed on average 1..2°С above long-term normals. The mean daytime air temperature varied within +20..+32°С.

Moisture supply. Precipitation continues mostly in northern and central areas of Romania (10-25 mm over the week). Soil drought expands in the west, south and southeast of the country – this is an unfavorable factor ahead of fall planting.

Spring crops are mostly in good condition, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Sunflower harvest started in the south this past week – for now, the average yield is lower than expected.
