Russia. “Primorskaya Soya” may resume operation in the spring of 2020

In the spring of 2020, the plant “Primorskaya Soya” may only resume operation if it is profitable, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Now there are a number of reasons making losses inevitable:

– growth in soybean prices and a decrease in those for soybean meal;

– weak development of livestock raising in the region and weak demand for soybean meal;

– impracticality of transporting products to the European part of Russia due to high transportation and time expenditures;

– growth in soybean oil exports to China and Korea, even together with domestic sales does not offset losses related to soybean crush.
