Turkey remains the top importer of Ukrainian soybean
Soybean exports in the first three months of MY 2019/20 remain record high (+217% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult.
The soybean market has been operating under new VAT refund rules since the beginning of MY 2018/19. As a result, shipments early in that season were low, but MY 2019/20 features a brisk start.
Turkey remains the top importer with a market share of 37%. Its purchases increased significantly (+114% year-on-year).
Egypt stepped up purchases from Ukraine and became the second biggest. It pushed the EU down to third position.
Growth in exports was also registered to Italy, Germany and Greece.
At the same time, Spain, Turkmenistan and Lithuania reduced purchases.
