Ukraine. Winter and spring crops enjoyed favorable conditions
Relatively cool weather with rain. The average daily air temperature on May 11-13 was 1-8°С below normal, ranging from 8.8°С to 15°С. It became warmer in the latter half of the month, with a rise in daytime temperatures to +27°С in the east and south and 19-25°С in the rest of the country. The lowest air temperature on the coldest nights was down at 4-15°С.
Too wet topsoil was observed in areas that had received significant rainfall, even stagnant waters occurred in relief depressions in single fields, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In most fields, winter and spring crops enjoyed favorable conditions for their growth due to adequate moisture supply and nearly optimum air and soil temperatures.
