Ukraine exported agricultural products worth $18.6 bln last year – Kubiv

Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister – Economic Development and Trade Minister Stepan Kubiv stated this at the 31st International Agro-Industrial Exhibition AGRO 2019, which opened in Kyiv on June 4, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry reported.

"In 2018, we had a record harvest – 70 million tonnes. Ukraine produces agricultural products worth UAH 850 billion. The country exported products worth USD 18.6 billion in 2018 alone," Kubiv noted.

At the same time, the EU's share in the total export structure of Ukrainian agricultural products increased to 33.5% in 2018.

“The Government, at the initiative of the Economic Development Ministry , has launched the state support program for manufacturers of agricultural equipment since 2017. This program allows Ukrainian manufacturers to receive partial compensation for the cost of their products and, consequently, to make their final cost more attractive to Ukrainian farmers,” the minister said.

As Ukrinform reported, according to Ukrainian Acting Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Olha Trofimtseva, agricultural export from Ukraine exceeded USD 7 billion for four months of 2019. This is slightly more than 43% of all Ukrainian exports.
