Ukraine interested in increasing trade turnover with South Korea
Ukraine is interested in increasing bilateral cooperation with South Korea, in particular, in the trade sector and direct investments.
Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko stated this at a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kwon Ki-Chang, the ministry’s press service reported.
“The Republic of Korea is one of our main trading partners in East Asia. In 2019, trade between our countries grew to USD 831.7 million. We are interested in enhancing bilateral cooperation in this area, as well as increasing direct investments in the Ukrainian economy, guaranteeing the protection of property and rights of the investor,” said Ihor Petrashko.
According to the minister, agriculture is a promising direction of cooperation with South Korea, in particular, increasing exports and expanding the list of agricultural and food products, implementing joint projects on agricultural production, accelerating the certification process in South Korea of dairy and poultry products, attracting Korean investments into the Ukrainian agriculture etc.
