Ukraine to receive $200 mln for private investment program in agriculture

Ukraine has started the implementation of the Accelerating Private Investment in Agriculture Program Project, according to which the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) gives Ukraine USD 200 million.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

“On May 20 this year, after Ukraine's domestic legal procedures, the loan agreement entered into force. The implementation of the Accelerating Private Investment in Agriculture Program Project for Ukraine will allow the country to ease certain restrictions on the way to increasing the participation of the private sector, in particular, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in the agricultural market and the Ukrainian commodity market," the report says.

The ministry notes that the program plans to create the State Agrarian Register and open access to it to the general public. A stock-taking of state-owned lands will be carried out, and information about them will be entered into the State Land Cadastre.

Also, there will be a satellite mapping of the territory of Ukraine and the creation of an automated warning system about changes in the State Land Cadastre.

The system of state control at the state border of Ukraine will be strengthened, taking into account the EU requirements and the best world practices.

The loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development was concluded on August 27, 2019.
