Ukraine’s export of goods grows by 8 percent

In January-February 2019, Ukraine’s export of goods totaled $7.96 billion, up 7.9% compared with the corresponding period in 2018.

"In January-February 2019, the export of goods totaled $7.96 billion, up 7.9% compared with the corresponding period in 2018. Over the two months of this year, the foreign trade operations have been conducted with partners from 202 countries," the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

During the mentioned period, the top Ukrainian exports were the following: plant products were sold to the tune of $1.99 billion; base metals and goods made of them – $1.9 billion; machines, electrical equipment and mechanisms – $669 million.

The exports to the EU countries increased by 4% up to $3.5 billion.

The European Union remains the main trading and strategic partner of Ukraine with a share of 44% of overall exports of goods.

In 2018, Ukrainian exports of goods and services totaled $57.1 billion, up 8.6% or $4.5 billion compared with 2017. In 2018, Ukraine’s exports of goods grew by 9.4% compared with 2017, totaling $47.3 billion.
