Ukrainian farmers already harvest 2.7 mln tonnes of grain – Agrarian Policy Ministry

Ukrainian farmers in 11 regions have gathered 2.7 million tonnes of grain crops, the press service of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine reports.

“As of June 27, Ukrainian farmers in 11 regions started harvesting early grain crops. In total, 2.7 million tonnes of grain crops of the new harvest were gathered from an area of 847,000 hectares (9%),” reads the report.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers threshed 1.0 million tonnes of winter wheat from an area of 330,000 hectares (5%); 1.5 million tonnes of barley from 452,000 hectares (18%); and 135,000 tonnes of peas from 65,000 hectares (23%). Also, 190,000 tonnes of winter rape were gathered from an area of 104,000 hectares (8%).
