Vet certificate issues prevent Ukraine from exporting pork to China, the Government in search of way out

Ukraine will not be able to agree on the export of pork to China by the end of this year due to complications with the conclusion of a veterinary certificate.

"It is rather complicated in terms of epidemiological and procedural issues. I do not think we will be able to complete it all by the end of this year, although we are actively working on all groups of products the export of which to China depends on the mutual signing of certificates," said Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Representative of Ukraine.

He also informed that on November 26-27, the Ukrainian delegation would be in Beijing, where it relies on signing several agreements on the export of agricultural products to China.

"We have a large program for opening deliveries of goods requiring mutual recognition of certificates for both plant and animal products," said the Deputy Minister.

Previously reported that the Customs Tariff Committee under the State Council of the People's Republic of China cancelled additional import tariffs for US soybeans and pork in September of the current year.
