Wheat bran exports from Kazakhstan increased by 89%
Wheat bran exports from Kazakhstan in September-December 2018/19 increased to 128.9 KMT that is 88.6% more than in the same period in MY 2017/18. At the same time, the pace of flour exports from the country is the slowest in three seasons, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Similar to last season, the top buyer of Kazakh wheat bran now is Uzbekistan. In the reporting period, exports to this market reached 99.9 KMT that is up 35% year-on-year. The second biggest consumer of Kazakh wheat bran – China – stepped up purchases this season. Now import is already 36% more than in the whole of MY 2017/18.
At the same time, wheat bran supplies to Iran, which was one of the top three importers last season, plummeted to 0.19 KMT in the reporting period against 8 KMT in September-December 2017/18.
In addition, Turkey, a major destination market in MY 2017/18, has not yet bought Kazakh wheat bran this season.
