Wheat exports from Ukraine in July-March 2018/19 down 7%

Wheat exports from Ukraine continue to slow. According to preliminary data, the country shipped abroad 839 KMT of wheat in March 2019 that is the smallest monthly export volume since June 2017/18, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Ukraine exported 13.3 MMT of wheat in July-March 2018/19. This is down 6.6% from the same period last season but 12.6% above the five-year average for this time of year.

In March 2019, Ukraine exported wheat mostly to Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Morocco.

In July-March this season, the greatest rise was seen in Ukrainian wheat exports to the Philippines. 1.5 MMT of wheat was shipped there in the period under review, or already 42% more than in the whole of MY 2017/18.

The reporting period witnessed a substantial slowdown in exports to the EU. Shipments to this destination were down 47% from July-March 2017/18.
