Belarus. Rains wetted the upper soil layer

Weather conditions. Warm, dry weather promotes maturation of corn grain, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Moisture supply. Rain has wetted the upper soil layer. In southern and central areas, which featured the driest soils, moisture supply is still poor. In the southwest of the country, the soil at a 10-cm depth continues to be dry.

Crop condition. The top 0-10-cm soil layer is well wetted that is favorable for tillage, fall planting and, seed germination and emergence of winter grains. However, unfavorable conditions for tillage and germination of seeds of winter grains are developing in dried fields. The upper soil layer in Vitebsk region and in the east of Mogilev region is too wet that will hinder fieldwork there.
