Barley exports from Russia at a four-year low

According to preliminary data, Russia exported 1042.0 KMT of barley in July-August 2019/20, or 15.6% less from July-August 2018/19 (1234.2 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Almost 55% of its total exports were absorbed by Saudi Arabia – the pace of deliveries to this market is comparable with last year.

Libya continues active purchases: over 56 KMT (no exports were made to this country at the same time last year). Other major importers reduced purchases against July-August 2018/19, for example: Lebanon (-51%), Jordan (-43%), Iran (-6%).

Weak demand and no purchases by last season’s major importers (Turkey, Israel, EU).
