China increasing its presence in Kazakhstan’s sunflower oil market
Sunflower oil exports from Kazakhstan in September-December 2019/20 were record high at 34.7 KMT (up 35% year-on-year), UkrAgroConsult experts report.
China is the top importer (54% of total exports against 36% in MY 2018/19).
The U.S. and the Czech Republic stopped purchases this season.
Growth in exports was registered to Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
A slowdown in exports was observed to Tajikistan, the Netherlands and Germany.
Sunflower oil exports in MY 2019/20 are expected to rise due to an increased sunseed crop, higher crush and stable demand from China, which is the biggest and promising buyer.
