Egypt to launch its first commodities exchange

Egypt is set to begin trading wheat, vegetable oils, rice, and sugar on a commodities exchange in the first half of 2021, UkrAgroConsult reports.

The commodities exchange will be launched to protect small Egyptian farmers by depositing their stocks in any of the supply ministry’s certified storage facilities where they will be evaluated and graded, then directly traded on the electronic platform.
