Kazakh linseed exports are up 31% year-on-year
Linseed exports in September-July 2018/19 were the highest at 468 KMT (up 31% year-on-year). The country’s export potential is secured due to a crop increase (over 1 MMT of linseed) along with stable demand from key importers, reports UkrAgroConsult.
At the same time, July’s linseed exports from Kazakhstan were at their lowest point since the beginning of MY 2018/19, at 14.7 KMT.
The EU continues to be the biggest importer with a market share of 77%. Its purchases are up almost 42.5% from last season.
MY 2018/19 witnessed the return of countries such as Estonia, Finland, Denmark to the ranks of importers;
Growth in exports was registered to Belgium (+46.5%), Poland (+45.7%), Mongolia (manifold). A slowdown in exports was observed to Turkey (-92%), Afghanistan (-10.6%) and Iran (-76.8%).
