Kazakhstan intends to increase wheat exports to Iran

According to the Ag Ministry of Kazakhstan, a trilateral Memorandum on wheat and wheat product supplies was concluded between Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia in January 2019.

This makes it possible for Kazakhstan and Russia to carry out the following operations: swap-procedures, i.e. shipping wheat to northern Iran and supplying Iranian wheat from the south of the country to third countries; transit through the territory of Iran; temporary import of wheat to Iran for its processing.

Iranian companies are ready to receive as much Kazakh wheat as needed to get milling facilities in Iran fully utilized, i.e. roughly 12 MMT. It is projected to increase supplies from Kazakhstan stage-by-stage: 500 KMT this year and 1 MMT in 2020, reports UkrAgroConsult.
