Romania. Despite of recent precipitation, soil drought still remains in the majority of regions

Weather conditions. Increased air temperatures (4..9°С above long-term normal) persisted in Romania last week. The average air temperature was within +–2…+10°C.

Moisture supply. The reporting week witnessed effective precipitation in the form of rain, mostly in the south of the country (25-50 mm over the week). The rest of Romania received some 5-10 mm.

Precipitation events gradually replenish soil moisture, but soil drought still remains in the majority of Romanian regions.

As of the same date in 2018, most of the country was covered with snow that alleviated the impact of soil drought and improved the condition of winter crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
