Romania. Meteorologists do not report any frost caused crop damages

Weather conditions. Further growth in air temperatures was observed all over Romania. Their values were 7..15°C above the long-term average for this time of year. The average air temperature was 1..+10°C. On February 1, daytime air temperatures in the south were within a range of +17..+20°C.

Moisture supply. Precipitation in the form of rain and sleet occurred everywhere (5-15 mm over the week), except for the northeast and southeast. Soil moisture content is at a low level – this is especially so in the south, where abnormally warm weather persists.

For now, meteorologists do not report any frost caused crop damages, but high air temperatures further reduce plant hardiness. A frost occurrence could kill much of winter crops in the south. Snow cover is only seen in mountainous areas, reports UkrAgroConsult.
