Russia. Moisture supply remained sufficient in most regions despite dry hot weather

Weather conditions. In the Central, Northwestern federal districts and in the western half of the Volga federal district, the weather was warm on most days and hot on the last 3-4 days of the June 1-10 period. Cooler-than-normal weather persisted in the east of the Volga federal district on June 4-8, when the average daily air temperature was 1-2°C below normal. The highest air temperature in most areas reached 27…32°C. Hot weather persisted in the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts on most days (up to 30…35°C in the daytime); hot dry winds occurred in some areas there. In the Siberian federal district, it was warm mostly on June 6-10. On such days, the average daily air temperature was 2-5°C above normal, while the highest one reached 22…27°C, locally even 28…30°C. On single cold days, the average daily air temperature was 2-6°C below normal, with the lowest temperatures registered down at 1…5°C.

Moisture supply. Dry, hot weather in the Central, Northwestern and Volga districts reduced moisture supply available to crop plants, but it nevertheless remained sufficient in most areas there. In the central black-earth and Middle Volga regions, productive supply of topsoil moisture fell to fair levels, locally even to inadequate ones. In the Siberian district, soil moisture supply was adequate.

Crop condition in the Central, Northwestern and Volga districts are mostly good. It is good and fair in the Siberian district, reports UkrAgroConsult.
