Russia resumes wheat exports to Madagascar

Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, has resumed wheat supplies to Madagascar after a five-year break, a Russian state agency said in a statement on Friday.

The service, in charge of the quality of grain supplies, approved the supply of 32,500 tonnes of wheat to Madagascar last week, it added.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) expects Russia's wheat exports to total 34.0 million tonnes this season, which started on July 1, down from 35.7 million in the 2018/19 season.
