Sunflower planting started in Russia
Making use of the early arrival of spring and sufficient soil moisture, farmers in Krasnodar region began sunflower planting two weeks earlier than normal. According to real-time data, the planted area has already reached almost 20 Th ha. Overall, it is forecast to end up at 400 Th ha, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The region is planning to step up fat-and-oil product exports to USD 374 Ml by 2024 (USD 285 Ml in 2019).
A reserve for increasing fat-and-oil production is a gain in sunflower seed yield.
