Ukraine. Market operators ship grain actively before tariffs growth
During January-March 2019, grain deliveries by railway increased to 10.9 MMT. That was 17.8% more than during the first quarter of 2018. Indexation of railway cargo transportation tariffs became one of the main growth drivers.
Market participants tried to supply maximum grain before entering into force of new transportation rates. Moreover, high corn exports, which accounted for over 60% of all volumes shipped to foreign markets, were among key factor as well, reports UkrAgroConsult.
