Ukrainian barley exports recovered in December
245 KMT of barley was exported in December 2019/20, or 74% more than in November and twice as much as in December 2018/19, reports UkrAgroConsult.
3.7 KMT of barley had been exported since the beginning of the season, or 18% more than in the same period in MY 2018/19.
Traditionally, the main importers are China, the EU and Saudi Arabia.
For a third month in a row now, supplies to the European Union remain insignificant.
Saudi Arabia’s interest in Ukrainian barley declined this season: the country imported half as much as a year earlier.
The majority of other importing countries show stronger demand than last season: Turkey, Algeria, the EU, Israel, China and Egypt.
