Ukrainian grain exports already exceed 35 mln tonnes

Ukraine has exported over 35 million tonnes of grain crops since the beginning of the current marketing year.

"In particular, since the beginning of the current marketing year Ukraine has exported 12.7 million tonnes of wheat (including over 8.1 million tonnes of milling wheat and over 4.6 million tonnes of fodder wheat), over 3.1 million tonnes of barley and 18.4 million tonnes of corn," the press service of the department for phytosanitary security, seed production and planting control of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reports.

Over 29.2 million tonnes of grains were exported over the same period last marketing year. In particular, 13.6 million tonnes of wheat (including 7.5 million tonnes of milling wheat and 6 million tonnes of fodder wheat), over 3.9 million tonnes of barley and 10.9 million tonnes of corn were exported.

In addition, 3.8 million tonnes of oilseeds have been exported within the current MY. Over the same period last marketing year, almost 4.3 million tonnes of oilseeds were exported.

As reported, in 2018, Ukraine gathered the largest crop of grains for the years of its independence – 70.1 million tonnes. In particular, 35.5 million tonnes of corn were harvested, up 44% than last year (the previous record was set in 2013 – 30.9 million tonnes). Some oilseeds also hit the record: 13.7 million tonnes of sunflower seeds were harvested, up 12% than in 2017 (the previous record was set in 2016 – 13.6 million tonnes); 4.4 million tonnes of soybeans were harvested, up 13% than in 2017 (the previous record was set in 2016 – 4.2 million tonnes).
