Wheat exports from Kazakhstan up 7%

In June 2018/19, wheat exports from Kazakhstan fell to a season low (351.7 KMT, down 8% from June 2017/18).

Kazakhstan exported 4.8 MMT of wheat in September-June 2018/19, or the highest volume since MY 2014/15 (up 7% from the same period last season, up 28% from the five-year average), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are still the biggest importers (they absorb a combined 60% of total exports).

China became one of the three biggest destinations for Kazakh wheat shipments (it imported 352.9 KMT against 295.0 KMT in the same period in MY 2017/18).

Exports to Turkmenistan increased manifold: 342.7 KMT against 88.9 KMT in the whole of MY 2017/18.

Growth in exports was observed to Georgia and Azerbaijan.

A slowdown of exports was registered to Turkey, the EU and Afghanistan.
