Belarus. Recent rains replenished soil moisture content
Weather conditions. Warm weather considerably extended fall growth of winter crops. A steady decrease in the average daily air temperature below +5°C, which marks the end of the growing season, is delayed for almost a month.
Moisture supply. Recent rain replenished soil moisture to the greatest degree in the country’s northern and central regions, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Condition of winter crops. Tillering of winter grains (the best stage for winter survival) is observed on a larger area than in 2018. The least developed are crops in Vitebsk, Gomel regions and in northwestern parts of Minsk region. The largest portion of crops in the emergence stage (over 10%) is seen in Gomel region. The highest percentage of winter rape in fair condition is in Vitebsk and Gomel regions. Overgrown crops of winter rape are seen in Brest region and in the south of Minsk region.
