COFCO exported 3 million tons of agri commodities from Ukraine
In 2017/18, COFCO (China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation) exported more than 3 million tons of agricultural and processed products from Ukraine, EPravda informs.
Vladimir Osadchuk, CEO of COFCO Agri Ukraine, noted that the company's main exports were corn, wheat, rapeseed, sunflower oil and meal. He added that COFCO Agri Ukraine’s export forecasts for the current marketing year were at the level of the previous year’s indicators.
“The important thing is that the weather conditions and investments in the production of crops by commodity producers allow them to harvest a good crop. Today winter crops look promising,” noted the CEO of COFCO Agri Ukraine.
At present, the company’s oil crushing plant in Mykolaiv region, where grains and oilseeds are reloaded, runs at full capacity.
“We are constantly looking for ways of logistics optimization to increase the efficiency of the plant's operation,” said Vladimir Osadchuk.
As previously reported, COFCO International planned to double its grain purchases in the Black Sea region as part of global expansion to help serve markets beyond China.
