EU. Analysis of oilseed complex import statistics

The EU imported 18.6 MMT of oilseeds from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 (up 5% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Soybean imports increased to 14.1 MMT (up 8% from last season). Rapeseed and sunseed imports fell to 4.0 MMT (-2%) and 0.5 MMT (-4%), respectively.

Total meal imports dropped to 20.3 MMT (-6%): soybean meal down at 16.6 MMT (-6%) and sunflower meal down at 3.2 MMT (-10%). Rapeseed meal imports jumped by 140%, to 0.4 MMT.

Vegetable oil imports rose to 8.2 MMT (+2%): soybean oil up 51% at 0.4 MMT and rapeseed oil up 69% at 0.3 MMT. Imports of palm and sunflower oils remain stable at 5.9 MMT and 1.6 MMT, respectively.
